Congratulations to our Pre-K teacher, Estela Mira Barreda who not only win one grant from the Chicago Foundation for Education, but recently was told she won a second grant as well. Best to let her tell it,
“I won a “Small Grant” from the Chicago Foundation for Education back in December. “Small Grants fund the implementation of classroom or school-wide curricular projects for PreK-8th Grade CPS teachers.” With the money from the Grant, we were able to buy the tickets to go see the live theater performance “My Wonderful Birthday Suit” at the Chicago Children’s Theater.
This last week I got confirmation that I won a “Study Group Team Member Grants,” that I had applied for, also from the Chicago Foundation for Education. “Study Group Grants provide PreK-12th Grade CPS teachers the opportunity to learn new teaching strategies, and offer funding for resources to implement those strategies. Collaborate with colleagues and expand your skills under the guidance of an experienced CFE Study Group Coach.” The Study Group that I will be part of will focus on “Creating Developmentally Appropriate Lessons for Diverse Learners-PK-K.”
