Pathway Biliteracy Awards For Whittier 5th and 8th Graders

[metaslider id=11424]

Whittier 5th and 8th grade students were awarded  the Pathway Medal, on their way to getting the  Seal of Biliteracy, at Lane Tech High School last week.  65% of our 5th graders and  75% of our 8th graders were awarded the Pathway Medal, which is more than the previous year. That speaks of the quality of instruction of our teachers and leadership of our administrators.  Let us not forget the parents who support their children and see the very real value of being biliterate.  “A Seal of Biliteracy and the Pathway awards are a statement by the school system that mastery of two or more languages is important. It encourages students to pursue biliteracy, honors the skills our students attain, and can be evidence of skills that are attractive to future employers and college admissions offices.”
