Your school will have to contract a bus for this event. This is the first of two field trips your choir will take this year that will require a bus. The second will take place on May 23, 2019.
You will need to assign chaperones/teacher’s aides to accompany the choir. At least one lead chaperone must be official school personnel. It will not be possible for your school choir conductor to ride the bus. (Conductors are required to be at Symphony Center from 8:00am – 2:00pm to assist with operations.)
Food is not permitted at Symphony Center. Because this is a lengthy event, students should pack a lunch to eat upon their return to school if they are unable to eat during a scheduled lunch period. Students also may want to bring a small snack to eat before arriving to Symphony Center.
Broadcast and print news media may be present at this event. Video footage and still images of the event—including participating students, faculty and audience—may be used for broadcast and print news media and in future promotional videos for Chicago Children’s Choir to educate others about our programs. Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns.
A recommended permission slip template is attached.
